Several microorganisms can improve soil health and plant productivity. We investigate if the functioning and sustainability of agricultural soils can be increased or restored by introducing beneficial microorganisms in the field. We are concentrated in the study of DSE (dematiaceous sterile endophytes fungi) Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and plant growth-promoting microorganisms.

We are working in these main topics

  • Ecology of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and in vitro culture collection of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi  from Argentina (http://www.bgiv.com.ar)
  • Interaction between plant and soil microorganisms in cropping systems.
  • High quality microbial inoculant production based on AMF and plant growth promoting microorganisms. AMF and DSE isolated from extreme habitats as biotechnological tool for recovering degraded soil.
  • Bioremediation of soil contaminated with heavy metals
