We study the morphology, taxonomy, and systematics of insects, with a main focus on aquatic and semiaquatic Coleoptera and Heteroptera where we study a variety of groups (see lines of research). Several of our projects involve national and international collaborations with recognized specialists in our discipline. We usually do field work collecting aquatic insects in protected areas, mostly of Argentina. The results of our scientific activities are published in national and international journals. We also teach several courses in the Biological Sciences career at Buenos Aires University, including a specific course on “Diversity and bionomics of aquatic insects”. We develop and maintain a reference collection for research and teaching purposes. We offer identification services and graduate/undergraduate student training (scholarships, graduation and doctoral theses) in topics related to aquatic Coleoptera and Heteroptera.
